ANNA AND CAM - ROCKY MOUNTAIN DAY AFTER SESSION

We love Colorado and we love the mountains! We also love couples who embrace the outdoors and aren’t afraid to adventure a little bit in their wedding dress or scuff up their shoes a bit. Unfortunately, a traditional wedding timeline doesn’t always allow the flexibility to really go off adventuring, just you and your beloved. There are so many constraints and certain places you have to be at certain times, that you won’t always have the time to drive an hour up to the top of a mountain for an epic sunset. You have things to get ready, vows to say, guests to entertain, dance moves to bust. There is a lot and you want to make sure you give all of your attention to this once in a lifetime event. But you still want the epic mountaintop photos, or maybe there is another special landscape that is just too far of a drive away to fit in on your wedding day, or maybe you want to capture the perfect light. That’s when the day after session can really come in handy. Let’s tell you how Anna and Cam did it….

Last July, we flew out to Colorado to capture Anna and Cam’s big day. Friends and family came from all over the country to the beautiful mountain town, Silvertorne, not too far from Denver. Large AirBnb’s were packed with people who were making a weekend out of this celebration. The wedding was on a Saturday at the Silverthorne Pavilion. Fortunately, Silverthorne itself is such a picture perfect town, surrounded by the mountains, so we were able to get plenty of amazing mountain shots during Anna and Cam’s first look. But unfortunately, a rain storm took away the opportunity to get some awesome sunset shots, and distance didn’t allow us to make it to the mountain tops to really capture the snowcapped peaks the Rocky Mountains have to offer. So the next day, after Anna and Cam said farewell to a lot of their guests, they put on their wedding clothes again (though Cam had to buy new trousers since he ripped his on the crazy dance floor the night before) and Anna had her hair and make up done again. An hour before the sunset exploded beyond the Rockies, we met at the top of Loveland Pass and had another hour and a half photo session that really displayed Anna and Cams love for Colorado and truly showed off the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. We love these extra adventure sessions and the creativity and flexibility of time these sessions give us and super thankful Anna and Cam were up for the adventure the day after their wedding!
